Real estate and property valuations and appraisals - Listed & historic Buildings - Greece
Listed and historics buildings in Greece (buildings which, because of their archeological or historic significance or importance, are subject to special conservation building laws) belong to a category which entails a number of peculiarities. The attraction they have vis-à-vis buildings in close proximity to them is rather hard to value, not to mention their internal constrictive layout which can be catalytic. Quite often, buildings in this category are sold in non-operable condition (which, after purchase, requires the investment of substantial amounts of time and money for their restoration) and so their valuation must definitely be conducted by an assessor-engineer, since special technical knowledge is over 50% of the total amount of know-how required for the completion of the valuation.
